This weekend I had an amazing time in Boston. My friend Raychel and I made the drive up on Friday afternoon to see the band (fun.). I love driving, hate paying for gas, but I love driving long distances. It gives you the chance to just really take the world in. We drove to my other transportation love, the T. It had been SO long since i had last ridden Bostons famous T system. To hear the phrase "this is a braintree train, braintree train" brought back floods of memories of young me riding the T into Boston to Axis or avalon, and when i was in my later high school years the ICC.
The venue we were going to (the roxy) is right in the theater district of Boston. We got there a bit early because we were meeting one of my old friends from high school. We walked around boston common, which is conveniently located right where the t-stop is that we needed to get off. Walking around the commons made me realize that Boston is where I want to live someday, Its a beautiful city. After walking around in the freezing cold for 25 mins we walked into the foodcourt they have in the restaurant section of the theater district. As soon as we got in there i stood SHOCKED as i saw what was in front of me, A sandellas not at the university of new haven. I approve Boston, I approve. So my friend finally got in and we went to the restauraunt Vapianos. Let me tell you, this restaurant is not for me. They look all fancy and california hipster on the inside, but at the heart of it, it's really just awkward. They give you a card, like a debit card and then you go sit wherever. Then when you have decided what you want, you go up to a counter and tell them what you want, scan your card and sit down. THEY DONT TELL YOU WHEN YOUR ORDER IS READY, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW. Y U NO TELL ME WHEN MY ORDER IS READY OR BRING IT TO ME LIKE A NORMAL RESTAURANT. So there are no waiters, but you still have to tip! As i said...not for me.
Finally it was the show time. We all walked over to roxy, which was a very awkward venue. The dance floor was raised, so there were people standing on it, and people who couldnt see behind them because they didnt have space on the dance floor which was a step up. Fun. was amazing though. I regret not seeing the format in their prime before they broke up. This was my chance to see the next incarnation of them. Let me say, that Nate Reuss the singer has the range of a 12 year old castrato, and i envy it. They played every song from their debut album aim and ignite and also a format gem "dog problems". Needless to say when they played dog problems I was a bit ecstatic. The vibe was great, the band was great, the bros on the balcony were entertaining, overall it was a great night. Even if the morons behind us kept talking about how hawthorne heights ruined emo music. STFU you dont know anything about real emo music, go listen to some promise ring and then we will talk.
ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Into it. Over it./Koji - Split LP
Got the digidownload of this earlier in the week, I had never really heard Into it over it before. Let me say that this record has been on CONSTANT rotation and that im crazy about all the songs these fine gentlemen put on this record. It sounds like the music of the early 2000's where it was just about the music and not about any trend. I cant wait till the physical record is in my hands so i can put it on the turntable. Recommended for fans of hot rod circuit, acoustic jams, sing-alongs.
P.S this week's blog was totally a livejournal throwback.

Hello Internet Land
I love Tv. Tv is probably my best friend, it doesn't judge me at all and it knows what I like. Normally if you stare at someone for as long as you stare at tv, they will probably file a restraining order against you. This is why I enjoy TV, it lets you stare as long as you want. /creepyguyrant
Two things that consume my life on tv:
The biggest loser- LOVE this show, although i feel disappointed about the weight loss this season. The biggest loser on NBC Tuesday at 8pm is probably one of the only reality shows on TV i can feel alright about watching because people are truly bettering their lives. Who is your favorite this season? Mine is Mark, i hope he wins.
and
Glee- Love to hate it, hate to love it. I will always love this show, but thinking back on it I realize that this show is no more than high school musical for adults. The song choice and arrangement is just absolutely fantastic (for the most part...looking at you shoe). It still blows my mind that almost every song they do tops the itunes charts and sometimes sells more copies than the originals.
Going to see fun. in boston with a few friends this friday which really excites me. Probably will blog about that next week.
Album of the week:
Empire! Empire! I was a lonely estate - What it takes to move foreward
This album has been going constantly for the past week or two on my itunes. Im SO excited that there is a recent upsurge in 90's era inspired music. Empire! Empire! put together a blend of music that sounds like texas is the reason had a baby with really really old death cab for cutie (imo). If you are into sad jamz or just awesome music, check out this band.
